5 Tips For Back Pain Relief

Friday, January 30th, 2009

There are few things worse than living everyday in back pain. Billions of people around the world live in constant back pain. There are several things that you can do to help prevent and reduce back pain.

1. Get moving. Exercise is one of the most important things you can do for your back. Exercise actually keeps your spine healthy. It can be hard to be motivated to exercise. Think of your favorite activity that is exercise related. Find something that you enjoy to make sure that you actually do it. You’d be surprised how much a little exercise can help. All it takes is 30 minutes of exercise every day (or most days) of the week. Make sure that whatever form of exercise you choose, it gets you breathing heavier and faster. Don’t leave out the strength training to make sure your muscles are healthy and strong too. Walking, jogging, biking and swimming are excellent forms of exercise to choose from.

2. Lose weight. Lugging around all that extra weight makes for hard work for your back and spine. Over half of Americans are considered overweight. Obesity also affects the onset of diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, heart disease and back pain. True, the spine was designed to distribute your body’s weight. However, too much weight can strain the spine. If this weight isn’t taken off, your spine will begin to wear out.

3. See your doctor. When was the last time you went to the doctor? Checkups are important, especially regular checkups. You need to plan on having a checkup at least twice a year. If is definitely time to see your doctor if you are in back pain. Consult your doctor on which back
pain treatment options are available for you.

4. Good posture. Remember when your mom used to tell you to “Sit Up” and “Don’t slouch?” Good ‘ole Mom knew what she was talking about. Slouching and slumping (while you are sitting or standing) makes your muscles work harder. Having good posture is an important step in protecting your spine.

Get a mattress that keeps your mattress properly aligned. Sleeping and resting in the right position (in your natural position) keeps your muscles relaxed and refreshed. Longevity For Mattress – Use Mattress Toppers

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Almost everything in this life ages. We, unfortunately, age. Batteries age. Food products age. Etc. A common misconception in the consumer world is that mattresses do not age. I know of so many people that are still sleeping on the same mattress after 25+ years.

Mattresses do wear out over time. Some mattresses last a short time, while others last longer. For instance, innerspring mattresses do not last as long as high quality latex mattresses do. The Better Sleep Council recommends replacing your mattress at least every 5-7 years. However, there are some ways that you can get some extra life out of your mattress.

Use a mattress topper. Mattress toppers are usually made from memory foam. These toppers are designed to transform your current mattress into a memory foam bed. You can expect to get a much better night’s sleep just by adding a topper to your mattress.

The key to buying the right mattress topper is to make sure you get only the highest quality. You won’t find top quality mattress toppers from huge, nationwide chain stores like Wal-Mart and Target. Often times, the mattress toppers you find in these stores are cheap imitations and will not provide any benefits to you.

Only trust mattress professionals with your mattress topper needs. These experts will be able to educated you on which type of mattress topper will benefit you the most. They will help you understand the difference between a 2 lb mattress topper and an 8 lb mattress topper.

The only time to use a mattress topper is if your current mattress is still in good condition. You can’t expect to put a mattress topper on top of a sagging mattress and get better support. If you want to get more longevity and life out of your current mattress, consider investing in a good quality mattress topper.

4 Medical Benefits of a Foam Mattress

Medical Benefits of a Foam Mattress

There is a reason memory foam mattresses were began being used in the health care industry. Memory foam mattresses have many medical benefits. Let’s take a look at a few of them.

1. Conforming. Memory foam mattresses aren’t rigid like other mattresses. While other mattresses resist the contours of your body, memory foam mattresses conform to the shape of your individual body. Memory foam mattresses use your body temperature to heat the foam. Once the foam is heated, it can conform to your favorite sleeping position.

2. Firm vs. Soft. Some mattresses are too firm. Other mattresses are too soft. It can be hard to find the perfect mix. The problem with mattresses that are too firm is that they do not provide you with optimal comfort. The problem with mattresses that are too soft is that they do not provide enough support. Memory foam mattresses are firm enough to keep your body supported, but soft enough to be completely comfortable.

3. Responsiveness. Memory foam mattresses have a delayed response time to ensure that the mattress
molds to your body. This delayed responsiveness allows memory foam to provide better orthopedic support. Memory foam distributes your weight evenly so that you can wake up the next morning ache and pain-free.

4. Pressure Points. Traditional mattresses can create pressure points instead of relieving them. Innerspring coils can eventually poke through the outer mattress layers. These coils end up poking you all night long. Memory foam mattresses do not contain any springs or coils. Because of this, memory foam relieves and alleviates pressure points. Memory foam is also more dense than other mattresses. This allows memory foam to disperse the few pressure points away from your vertebrae.

Memory foam has been proven to dramatically reduce arthritis and can help relieve joint pains. These mattresses have also been very useful for patients who have recently undergone surgery. Memory foam mattresses are also very beneficial for pregnant women. If you want to enjoy the medical benefits of a memory foam mattress, you need to be sure to buy a quality mattress. Don’t waste your money on cheap imitations. These ‘memory foam’ mattresses won’t benefit your body at all. Stick to top-quality memory foam mattresses if you want to start feeling better physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Foam Pillows are Changing the way the World Sleeps

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Foam Pillows are Changing the way the World Sleeps in fact, even my own daughter owns one of our famous memory foam pillows:

Many people wish that they could change the world. Well, there is a hot new product that is definitely changing the world. Memory foam pillows are changing the way the world sleeps.

There aren’t as many ‘grumpy’ employees around the world. Why? Because more and more people are waking up feeling well rested and refreshed, rather than achy and tired. How are these people getting such a good night’s sleep? Memory foam pillows.

There are many reasons why the majority of people around the world aren’t getting the rest they need. One of the major reasons is because people aren’t using the right type of pillow. Let me explain. My husband used the same pillow for the first three years of our marriage. Who knows how long he had that thin, lumpy thing before I came along. After three years of begging, I finally convinced him that the next cure for cancer was being grown on his pillow (sorry for the illustration). What type of pillow did we get him? None other than a memory foam pillow.

It is remarkable what a huge difference a simple pillow can make. He feels better when he wakes us. He isn’t spending all night, every night, tossing and turning because he is actually sleeping. The pains he used to feel in his back and neck are gone. I credit all of these changes to his new pillow.

Memory foam pillows are becoming more and more popular around the world. The most popular type of memory foam pillow is the contoured pillow. This pillow allows for an extra level of neck support. Another name for a memory foam pillow is a “miracle” pillow. Millions of people have testified that these pillows have solved their health issues.

Memory foam pillows have been proven to reduce snoring. For those of you who are up all night listening to a spouse snore, this is a wise investment. Memory foam pillows can also drastically reduce pressure points on one’s neck and head. The memory foam pillow makes sure that the spine is aligned properly. This is very important for people who suffer from any type of neck or back pain.

Memory foam pillows really are changing the way the world sleeps. These pillows come full of benefits. If you have any sleep problem that needs to be fixed, you are sure to correct the problem just by using a memory foam pillow. Take the advice of millions of people from around the globe…Switch to a memory foam pillow to relieve any and all sleeping discomforts.

Memory Foam From China – Cheap In More Ways Than One

Memory Foam From China – Cheap In More Ways Than One

Memory foam mattresses can be excellent products. These mattresses can take you from a bad night’s sleep to a good one. Memory foam mattresses have been proven to significantly reduce pressure points and have been used in the health care industry for decades.

The problem is that there are many cheap, imitation memory foam mattresses that are not beneficial at all. Most of these mattresses are from China. America gets a lot of its products from China (everything from toys to toothbrushes). However, China hasn’t been all that reputable lately.

Remember when the U.S. recalled millions of toys because China had used lead paint? Remember when there was a massive recall of toothbrushes because they were tainted? Remember the tainted wheat gluten? Remember the tainted fish? Yes, all of these harmful products came from China.

Memory foam mattresses from China are not all that different. Chinese manufacturers of memory foam experience a spoilage rate of over 40 percent of all of their foam. Chinese memory foam has no benefit for the sleeper. Instead, you will wake up feeling achy and exhausted.

When these mattresses and mattress toppers are manufactured, they are heavily compressed. This compression process takes all of the life (if there was any to begin with) out of the product. To make things worse, these mattresses often spend weeks and months in storage. The longer memory foam is in storage, the shorter life it has. Chinese memory foam mattresses also have a very strong chemical odor to them.

The bottom line is that Chinese memory foam is not good. It may be cheaper, but these mattresses carry no other benefits. You are much better off spending a little bit more and getting a top-quality, American-made memory foam. This way, you will actually see and feel the quality of your health improve. Simply put, memory foam mattresses from China are cheap in more ways than one.
