The Importance of Choosing Quality Latex

latex mattress

Latex mattresses get the best customer reviews for comfort and support. As with any product, latex mattresses vary in quality and price. If you are looking for a mattress that will completely support you and give you the comfort you deserve, you might want to try out a latex mattress.

When choosing a latex mattress, there are many things to consider. You need to consider size, price, quality, etc. The most important thing to keep in mind is where the latex came from. Latex can be completely natural or completely synthetic. There are two main methods for creating latex mattresses. The Dunlop process is used more and creates firmer mattresses. The Talalay process is more expensive and creates a more “airy” mattress.

It is important to keep in mind that even 100% natural latex mattresses use a small amount of chemicals to help preserve the texture and comfort of the mattress. For instance, before latex can be made into a mattress, it has to be washed and treated. Even “organic” or “natural” mattresses use chemicals during this process.

When you go to buy a latex mattress, first consider where the latex came from. You also need to be aware of the composition of the latex. You can choose a natural latex mattress or a mattress blended with latex. Both of these mattresses offer good comfort, support and weight distribution. These factors are important in alleviating pressure points.

You need to make sure that you do your homework before buying a latex mattress. Sit down and decide which factors are important to you and which are not. Make sure you know where the latex came from, what it is composed of and which process was used in creating it. By following these simple guidelines, you can be sure to choose a quality latex mattress.

What You Need To Know About Child Bedwetting

About Child Bedwetting

Bed-wetting is common in children under the age of six. Bed-wetting usually affects more boys than girls. In fact, twice as many boys are affected by bed-wetting than girls are. It can cause severe embarrassment to the child and can also be a source of stress for the child and their families.

What causes bed-wetting?
Experts suspect that some children may take longer to learn to control their bladders. Medical problems are rarely the cause of bed-wetting. Genetic factors play a more significant role than medical factors do.

What can be done?
Babies certainly aren’t born with the ability to control their bladders. As children get older, they begin to recognize when their bladder feels full. Usually, children learn to control their bladders during the day by the time they are 3 years old. Most times, children are also dry at night by the time they go to school. If isn’t considered abnormal if your child isn’t dry every night until they are about 5 years old.

Experts recommend that you seek help if your child is still wetting the bed after the age of seven or eight. If your child wets the bed often before this age, you might also want to seek help. You will also want to see a medical professional if your child has been regularly dry at night and then starts to wet the bed. If wetting the bed is causing you or your child (or any other member of your family) distress, you need to seek help.

Bed-wetting is a problem that can be taken care of with the proper help. For instance, my little sister wet the bed until she was quite old. When my parents finally took her to the doctor, they discovered that she had a medical condition that prevented her from waking up when she had to go to the bathroom. This condition was easily treated with medication. The medication was such an easy fix for a problem that had caused my sister and my parents so much grief.

There is a wide array of bed-wetting treatments. Bladder training programs have proven to be successful. These programs are supervised by a doctor and teach the child good bladder habits. These programs also “train” the bladder to hold more urine. Bed-wetting alarms are placed in the child’s bed or under the child. As soon as the alarm is triggered by urine, it wakes the child up. Behavioral techniques have also been successful. These techniques encourage the child to stay dry by offereing rewards or treats. Medication is sometimes used to help prevent bedwetting. These medications need to be prescribed by your doctor. You can also try other home and herbal bed wetting remedies.

There is so much you can do to help your child learn how to now wet the bed. Don’t let bedwetting be a source of any more stress for you or your family. Learn what can be done today to prevent further problems tonight.

Rocky Mountain Mattress offers a complete line of high quality water-proof bed covers that can help you through this teaching process with your child, and save your mattress at the same time.

Need Help With Neck Pain? – Try a memory foam pillow

Do you constantly live with neck pain? Many people don’t realize how debilitating neck pain can be until they begin suffering from it. If you suffer from chronic neck pain or any pain in your neck at all, you need a memory foam pillow

memory foam pillows.

Memory foam pillows have been proven to significantly reduce neck pain. Everyone has a different shape. Memory foam pillows conform to the unique shape of your individual neck and head. This provides optimal custom support. Memory foam pillows also come with a unique contour which allows it to be a custom fit.

Memory foam pillows cradle your head and neck better than any other type of pillow. When your body temperature heats up the pillow, it gently molds to your head and neck. It provides support all night long while it cradles you. Instead of waking up feeling sluggish and achy, you’ll wake up with virtually no pain.

Do you toss and turn all night too? This is because typical mattresses create hot spots. Viscoelastic foam or memory foam prevent these hot spots from forming. Without these hot spots, you won’t have to toss and turn. You’ll get a much deeper sleeper when you aren’t tossing and turning.

Make sure you chose a memory foam pillow that is top quality. Some imitation memory foam pillows do not provide the comfort and/or support that you need. Instead of helping your neck pain, these cheap imitators can make your pain worse. If you want to live without neck pain, you need to get a memory foam pillow. Using a memory foam pillow is the best way to alleviate your pain and leave you feeling well rested every morning.

Here Is What I Found About Lower Back Pain Relief

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Lower back pain cripples millions of people worldwide every day. It is important to keep in mind that every body is different. What may work for one person to relieve lower back pain may not work or may not work as well for another person. If you are experiencing lower back pain, talk to your healthcare professional about different options that may work for you.

What causes lower back pain? The most common cause of lower back pain is a bad mattress or one that is not keeping your spine properly aligned. What happens when your spine isn’t aligned properly while you sleep? Lower back pain. Waking up with lower back pain is not a good way to start out any day. Dealing with lower back pain is not a fun way to spend every day. Many people wake up with lower back pain and then do nothing to fix it. Instead, they head off to work where they sit for long periods of time or lift heavy objects all day long.

Don’t just deal with the pain, fix it. Where should you look first? Your bed. That’s right, you need to take a close look at your bed because it may be what is causing all of your pain. Your bed can play a significant role in reducing your lower back pain. After all, you spend a great deal of time in your bed.

Which mattresses alleviate lower back pain? Well, that is up to you. However, there are a few types of mattresses that can eliminate your pain.

Memory foam mattresses
Memory foam mattresses have been used in the healthcare industry for decades. Why? Because they eliminate pressure points. Memory foam mattresses also keep your spine properly aligned while you sleep. This is a big factor in eliminating lower back pain.

Latex mattresses
Latex mattresses are similar to memory foam mattresses. The difference is that latex mattresses are made from natural rubber trees and have additional health benefits. These benefits include being hypoallergenic, anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, etc. Latex mattresses have a faster response time which means that it is easier to change positions. Latex mattresses do keep your spine aligned properly and can eliminate pressure points as well.

Air Mattresses
We aren’t talking about the $50 air mattresses you take camping. We are talking about the high-quality air mattresses that allow you to control the amount of air inside the mattress. Top-quality air mattresses can also eliminate pressure points because there is nothing inside the mattress to create them. If you decide to go the air mattress route, make sure you choose a good brand with a good track history.

Water Beds
Water beds can distribute your weight evenly, just like memory foam mattresses, latex mattresses and air mattresses. Water bed technology has come a long way in recent years and have been found to reduce lower back pain.

The key to reducing and/or eliminating lower back pain may be to get a different mattress. If you are experiencing any kind of lower back pain, you will want to stay away from coil mattresses or innerspring mattresses. These mattresses distort your spine while resting and create pressure points. Memory foam, latex, and top-quality air and water mattresses are the best mattresses to try if you experience lower back pain.

6 Health Benefits of Memory Foam

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

Health Benefits of Memory Foam

Memory foam mattresses have been used in the healthcare industry for decades because of their numerous health benefits. There is a reason why patients are put on a memory foam mattress after surgery. These mattresses have more medical and health benefits than any other type of mattress.

Pressure Points. Some mattresses create pressure points. Memory foam mattresses eliminate pressure points. The NASA-developed technology used in memory foam mattresses helps distribute weight evenly. This means that pressure is also displaced evenly throughout the entire mattress.

Temperature-sensitive Technology. Memory foam technology uses temperature-sensitive technology to warm the material. This technology puts less pressure on more sensitive areas. Less pressure means a better overall night sleep.

Relief from Sleep Apnea. Memory foam mattresses have been proven to reduce sleep apnea. The way or position someone sleeps can affect sleep apnea. Memory foam pillows and mattresses can adjust the way a person sleeps to ensure proper breathing.

Allergy Relief. Every home is susceptible to dust mites. While these critters aren’t harmful to the average person, they can be harmful to people who suffer from allergies and/or asthma. Dust mites aren’t able to live inside highly dense memory foam products. If you suffer from allergies or asthma, memory foam can reduce your side effects.

Relief from Fibromyalgia. Many people who suffer from fibromyalgia claim that sleeping on memory foam reduces pain in their muscles. This relief is due, in part, to the redistribution of one’s weight. Pressure points are significantly reduced or even eliminated.

An overall better night’s sleep. People who sleep on memory foam mattresses and/or pillows claim that these mattresses provide an overall better night’s sleep for them. These mattresses cradle you all night long, which reduces your need to toss and turn. You are able to sleep in a more natural position as well. Memory foam mattresses reduce morning soreness and keep the spine properly aligned during rest.

Memory foam mattresses provide many health benefits. There is a reason why these mattresses have been used in the healthcare industry for so long. Try these mattresses for yourself to see what health benefits they will provide to you.

Difference Between 2 Pound Memory Foam and 5 Pound Memory Foam

Monday, November 17th, 2008

2 Pound Memory Foam and 5 Pound Memory Foam – Difference Between the Memory Foam Densities

If you have been considering a memory foam mattress, I am going to let you in on a little secret…the higher the density, the better quality mattress. Memory foam densities can be a complicated issue. Some consumers don’t bother shopping for memory foam because they get too overwhelmed with the density topic. If you take a little bit of time, you’ll soon understand the difference between memory foam densities.

First, we need to know how density is measured. Density is measured by taking the weight of a cubic foot. In other words, a block of foam is taken and measured and weighed. The block must be twelve inches on all six sides. Once the block is weighed, the memory foam density is known. Higher density foam contains more memory foam than lower density foam.

So, why is it so important to know how much material the memory foam contains? Higher density memory foam directly affects how the products feels, the way it reacts and how long it lasts. U.S. manufacturers don’t typically manufacture cheap memory foam. Low density memory foam is more of an embarrassment than anything.

Memory foam that is 2.5 pounds in density often comes from China. This memory foam is much cheaper to produce, but has far fewer benefits. Low density memory foam is often sold in chain stores like Target, JC Penney, Wal-Mart, Belk, etc. If the memory foam product you are considering doesn’t have a density rating, chances are it is a low density item.

2.5 pound density memory foam has many problems. These problems include:
-It is soft, but not supportive.
-It has a slower recovery time which disables the foam from conforming to your body.
-It is cheaply made.
-It is breakable.
-It gives consumers the wrong impression of the real products.

You are safe when you buy 5 pound density products. The memory foam that was made world famous by Tempur-Pedic is the 5 pound density memory foam. Instead of being cheap, this foam is durable, well-made, and luxurious. Instead of lacking support, 5 pound density memory foam actually retains its recovery time, comfort and support for many years.

You can find memory foam in 8 pound or 12 pound densities, but usually 5 pound densities is the highest quality you’ll find. 5 pound density foam contains more memory foam material per cubic foot. Because of this, it is more expensive. But, it is completely worth every penny. If you really want to enjoy the benefits of real memory foam, don’t waste your time or your money with the 2.5 pound stuff. Stick to the 5 pound density memory foam to enjoy the true memory foam experience.

4 Tips For Choosing Bed Accessories

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Choosing Bed Accessories

We’ve been talking a lot about how important it is to love the look AND feel of your bed. Yes, the mattress is probably the most important component of your bed. But, the look, feel, and design of your bed may also play an important role in the quality of sleep you get. As crazy as it may sound, people tend to sleep a lot better on beds that they think are aesthetically pleasing.

Bedspreads, duvets, comforters, throws, pillows, and accent pillows can transform the look of you bed in a matter of minutes. When you were younger, you probably adorned your bed with teddy bears and other stuffed animals. Bed accessories are the grown up version of your childhood stuffed animals. It is important to choose these accessories carefully. Here are some things to keep in mind when sprucing up your bed with accessories.

1. Bedspreads and comforters are considered bed accessories. These are the most important bed accessory you can choose. These items set the tone for your entire bed and even your bedroom. Carefully choose your bedspread first before choosing any other accessory.

2. Size. You’ll want to keep the size of your bed in mind when choosing accessories. Obviously, you don’t want to have 15 accent pillows on a twin size bed. You’ll also need to know that size of your bed before buying your bedspread. Don’t get a twin size comforter for your king size bed.

3. Colors. Don’t choose clashing colors. Earth tones are an excellent choice for a bedroom. These colors help the mind and body relax, especially after a long, hard day. In order to choose the right bedspread, look at the color scheme of your room. Go with colors that will bring subtle life to the room.

4. Accent pillows. You can really have a lot of fun decorating with accent pillows. Accent pillows are the finishing touch that can make your bed warm, lush, elegant, exciting, and inviting. Choose pillows that add height and depth to the decor of the room, as well as the bed.

Your bedroom should be an oasis from everything else in your life. Carefully choose your bed accessories to begin creating the perfect retreat.
