Bayer Softcel Memory Foam Explained by Rocky Mountain Mattress

Many of Rocky Mountain Mattress’s higher end mattress feature Bayer memory foam. The unsurpassed quality and comfort of the 5 lb Bayer Softcel Memory Foam was designed by Bayer MaterialScience.

Recently at an expo in Arizona RMM received rave reviews from hundreds of individuals who stopped by our booth to touch and feel the Bayer 5 lb memory foam. The following video will give you a “taste” of what they were feeling!

The Bayer Softcel History

Bayer Memory Foam uses the same technology developed by NASA’s top engineers, and is the perfect example of first-rate, high-density, durable memory foam.

How Does Bayer Memory Foam Work?

Bayer Softcel Memory Foam is temperature sensitive, which means the material recognizes changes in temperature, and responds accommodating areas of the body which feel “warmer”. This warmth is generated by pressure and thus memory foam becomes pressure reducing. Softcel is viscoelastic foam, which means the material features an elastic property when it senses higher temperatures.

Why Sleep on a Mattress with Bayer Softcel Memory Foam

* Pressure Reduction: Because the heatsensitive technology of Bayer Memory Foam conforms to your size, shape, and weight, there is no pressure on the contact points that generally “weigh down” on traditional spring mattresses and lowquality memory foams.
* Reduced Tossing and Turning: Tossing and turning is typically caused by the body’s need to remove pressure from common contact points like shoulders, hips, and heels. Because that pressure is virtually eliminated on mattresses that feature Bayer Memory Foam, the tossing and turning will end!
* Zero-Motion Transfer: When your partner decides to get into bed after you or get up while you’re still sleeping, you’ll never know. That’s because the highdensity Bayer Memory Foam absorbs the motion, leaving your side of the bed still and quiet.

Here Are The Main Differences In Latex and Memory Foam Products

Friday, March 28th, 2008

When looking for a new mattress, many consumers find themselves face to face with a tough question:

“Should I go with a temperature-sensitive memory foam mattress, or an all-natural latex mattress?”

The decision is really one of personal preference, as high-quality mattresses are available in both materials. To help take away some of the mystery surrounding the debate, though, here is a side-by-side comparison of natural latex mattresses and memory foam mattresses on several key points.

Support & Design

Memory foam is temperature sensitive, and conforms to your unique shape as the foam reacts to your body temperature. With high quality memory foams like those available from Rocky Mountain Mattress, this leads to a supportive, conforming experience. With quality memory foam mattresses, expect little to no motion transfer.

Natural latex also offers quality support, although the material is not conforming and heat sensitive. Natural latex mattresses are often a bit more firm than memory foam, and while motion transfer is still minimal, you may experience slightly more movement on a natural latex mattress.

Memory foam mattresses are designed to weather numerous compressions and years of use without losing their original shape. As long as consumers stay with high-quality, American made memory foam mattresses, you can expect 10-15 years of quality use out of a memory foam mattress set.

Natural latex mattresses are similarly designed to offer years and years of use. In fact, in many cases a high quality latex mattress can offer support and quality sleeping experiences for two decades or more.

Natural Features

While memory foam itself is not inherently hypo-allergenic and anti-microbial, many owners choose to purchase a mattress cover that does bring these features to the memory foam sleep system.

Natural latex, though, is safe for allergy suffers and prevents the growth of fungus and mold through its naturally occurring features.

Memory foam sleep systems are among the most customizable options for individuals to use. Memory foam can be cut to virtually any size and shape, and layers of support foam, foundation foam, and toppers – all in varying densities and heights to meet the consumer’s desire – can be designed to order.

Because latex is also a “foam” it too can be customized in terms of layering – and size and shape can also be determined by the customer.

The Perfect Density for Your Size, Shape, & Preferred Support?

Many memory foam mattress toppers are only available in one density or limited heights. Not so with the Energia memory foam mattress topper. Energia mattress toppers are available in plush 3 pound density, firm 4 pound density, and extra firm 5 pound density. On top of that, consumers also have three choices in the height of the mattress toppers. Energia is available in 2, 3, and 4 inch profiles.

A Cool, Dry Night of Sleep?

A common complaint expressed by many owners of low-quality memory foam made in countries other than the United States is that dense memory foam can create a sleeping experience that is too warm. Aerus memory foam mattress toppers, however, are designed with an innovative open-cell design that encourages the free flow of air through the foam. So instead of warm, moist material, owners of Aerus mattress toppers enjoy a cool, dry sleeping surface.

One of the Industry’s Most Luxurious Mattress Toppers?

Sometimes, only the best will do. That’s where Venus memory foam mattress toppers come into play. Venus is the first eight pound density memory foam to be designed and manufactured in North America, and offers an elegant sleeping experience that cradles and supports unlike any other.

In fact, Sensus takes up to four times as long as other memory foam products to return to its original shape after it’s been compressed. Rocky Mountain Mattress Releases a New Version of Specialty Sleep Website

Sandy, UT March 26, 2008 As part of its ongoing commitment to environmentally friendly sleep system options, Rocky Mountain Mattress is proud to announce the introduction of several new “green” products to its inventory. These new Foamex products include eco-friendly memory foams, natural latex products, bedding components, and enhanced airflow materials.

Aerus Natural Memory Foam

Most memory foam mattresses are manufactured using petroleum-based raw materials and, in some cases, through a process that can release some emissions into the atmosphere. The new Aerus Natural memory foam, however, provides an alternative, eco-friendly solution while still delivering the same high quality memory foam mattresses.

Aerus Natural features more naturally occurring ingredients, which replaces some of the synthetic raw materials used in traditional memory foams. Aerus Natural is also manufactured through a revolutionary process that essentially eliminates the emissions released through other memory foam manufacturing. In addition to its green features, Aerus Natural is also notable for its breathability, and is available in a variety of densities and heights.

Foamex Natural Bedding

The Foamex Natural Bedding product line features various aspects of a luxury sleep system designed with natural products and ingredients. Available products include rails, mattress toppers, core bases, and quilt layers. Through the Foamex Natural Bedding product line, consumers can design an entire sleep system that is environmentally responsible and natural.

DriFast Performance Cushioning

Rocky Mountain Mattress is also pleased to offer products featuring DriFast Performance Cushioning. This innovative product works to pull heat and moisture away from the individual through an increased airflow that provides a cool, dry mattress night after night.

DriFast Performance Cushioning is created through Variable Pressure Foaming technology. The VPF process is the world’s most “green” foam manufacturing process, using more natural materials and falls well into the requirements laid forth through the Clean Air Act.

Natural Latex by Foamex

When only natural ingredients will do, check out Rocky Mountain Mattress’ selection of all-natural latex products. Natural latex is not only eco-friendly, but also is naturally hypoallergenic and anti-microbial, making it an ideal option for those who suffer from allergies and mold sensitivities. Processes for creating natural latex products are more environmentally sound than many other manufacturing products as well.

Energia Memory Foam And Its Three Different Density Levels

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Energia memory foam offers consumers the best of all worlds when it comes to high-quality memory foam. Energia offers three different densities to offer the ultimate in individualized, custom sleeping experience with plush 3 pound, firm 4 pound, and extra firm 5 pound options in 2, 3, and 4 inch profiles. Discover what makes Energia unique:

Luxury & Elegance

Energia is highly regarded in the memory foam industry as one of the most luxurious materials available. The heat-sensitive memory foam offers a customized sleeping experience that offers support and comfort while remaining durable and resilient.

Customized Sleep Experience

Sleepers can decide exactly how to put Energia to work for their needs. With three different densities available in three different height profiles, it’s possible to use Energia memory foam both as a mattress topper, or as a main component of a new memory foam sleep system. Because Energia greatly reduces motion transfer, it is an ideal selection to place on a spring mattress system, particular for partners with different sleeping patterns and styles.

Energia is designed to be around for years to come. During lab testing, Energia was able to withstand 50,000 cycles of 80 percent compression will still maintaining 99 percent of its original height. That means Energia quickly bounces right back to its shape as you move and change sleeping positions, and there’s no need to worry about body impressions on the memory foam. Like other Foamex-made mattress toppers, Energia carries a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Sensus Memory Foam Rated “Best Overall Memory Foam” by The Wall Street Journal

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

These are just a few of the reasons that Sensus was rated best overall memory foam by the Wall Street Journal, even compared to Tempur Pedic brand memory foam. Discover why Rocky Mountain Mattress customers are more pleased with their Sensus brand memory foam, even if they have purchased a Tempur Pedic in the past.

The high-density Sensus memory foam offers a premium, luxurious sleeping experience for individuals who seek the ultimate in comfort and quality from their mattress. Sensus memory foam has a density of five pounds, and is available in 2, 3, and 4 inch profiles. Check out what sets Sensus apart from other memory foams:

Long Lasting

Because Sensus foam is such a high-quality product, mattress toppers made from the foam can last years’ longer than other mattress toppers. Even after years and years of use, Sensus mattress toppers maintain their shape – no need to worry about body impressions, dips, and bumps. In fact, the Sensus memory foam is backed by the manufacturer’s 10-year warranty. If at any time during the first decade of use the Sensus mattress topper loses its shape or develops body impressions, it will be replaced.

Temperature Sensitivity

While it’s true that all memory foams are by nature heat-sensitive, there are varying degrees of sensitivity. Because Sensus mattress toppers are manufactured with a more even cell structure, they are more fluidly responsive to body temperatures. When you change positions as you sleep, Sensus mattress toppers will immediately respond with soft, comfortable support. A lot of times when we wake up in the night, we don’t know what it is that causes us to awake. In many cases, it’s caused by pressure, heat,

Memory & Compression

Sensus is made through a patented process that creates a more even cell structure throughout the foam. The result is an dense, quality foam that takes up to four times longer to return to its original shape than competitors’ memory foam products. Sensus foam also has a longer memory, creating an individualized sleeping experience that reduces the pressure on your head, shoulders, hips, ankles, and other pressure points without losing its memory foam properties.

If You Sleep Hot, But Want The Comfort Of Memory Foam – Aerus Memory Foam Is Your Solution

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

True to its name, the Aerus memory foam features an open-cell design that allows for the free flow of air through the foam. Aerus memory foam features a four pound density, with mattress toppers available in 2, 3, and 4 inch profiles. See what makes the Aerus memory foam stand out above the rest:

Breathability & Air Flow

The revolutionary open-cell system that gives Aerus the inspiration for its name is far and away the memory foam’s defining feature. Some people find that traditional quality memory foams have a tendency to trap heat, thereby making the mattresses warm to sleep on. For sleepers seeking a cooler sleeping experience, Aerus may be the answer.

Compared to other high-density memory foams, Aerus allows air flow through the memory foam material up to eight times more freely. As the air moves through the open-cell memory foam, excess heat and moisture is pulled away from the mattress. That means there will be no more waking up hot and damp from an uncomfortable sleep. Instead, Aerus provides a cool, dry sleeping experience.

Longevity & Durability

In addition to its breathability, Aerus memory foam is also designed to withstand years of use without losing its shape and profile, and without the creation of body impressions. Aerus is backed by a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty. In fact, testing has shown that Aerus will retain 99 percent of its original height even after 25,000 cycles of 80 percent compression!

4 Reasons You Need To Consider 8 lb. Venus Memory Foam

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

Of all the Foamex memory foam products, Venus memory foam really stands out above the rest with its ultra high 8 pound density, and superior open-cell design allowing for free flow of air. The luxurious feeling Venus is available in a 2 inch profile. There are plenty of features that set Venus apart from the rest:

Ultra High Density

The incredible 8 lb density, Venus, is manufactured in the United States. The ultra dense material offers superior support and unrivaled comfort as part of either a memory foam or spring mattress sleep system. The high density foam helps to greatly reduce pressure on key points by up to 50 percent, which means your head, shoulders, hips, ankles, and other pressure spots will be cradled by the dense Venus foam.

There is virtually no motion transfer with the Venus mattress topper, which makes it ideal for partners with different sleep schedules and styles.

Venus is revolutionary in its ability to combine high-density foam with a cool, dry sleeping experience. The mattress topper is designed with industry-leading, open-cell structure that allows air to flow freely through the material. As air flows, it pulls moisture and heat away from the sleeper, leading to a cooler, drier night of sleep. No more waking up damp and hot.

Venus was built to last. Backed by a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty, the Venus “bounce back” is remarkable. After 25,000 cycles of 80 percent compression, Venus mattress toppers maintained 100 percent of their original height.

In addition, the visco-elastic Venus material is anti-microbial; meaning that fungi, spores, and viruses will not grow and thrive in the mattress topper (a phenomenon not uncommon with traditional mattresses!).
